Stuck on a vocal plateau?

Are you stuck on a vocal plateau? Thinking “If I could only find that special ingredient that would set me apart from everyone else?”

And are you tired of going to vocal workshops or private lessons where the instructor basically leaves you on your own for finding ways to incorporate the material into your life (“Thanks, and good luck.”)? Do you ever wish some of these teachers offered concrete projects  and goals in the real world to strive for? You have finally come to the right place. This course offers ongoing materials towards learning specific original repertoire, with the golden opportunity of trying out for the virtual overtone choir Auralia, ONLINE!  Here, you can sing your parts separately, which are added to a final mix, and even participate in future live online concerts!

Are you aware of the expanding phenomenon of the magical world of overtones, present in every voice? Are you aware that YOU can split your voice into two distinct pitches at will, with complete control and indescribable beauty? Maybe you are thinking to yourself, “I couldn’t possibly do that, it sounds like a fairy tale.”

Chances are, if you have found this page, this breathtaking sound is something that you’ve discovered somewhere along the line, and you are intrigued.

Whether you’ve heard someone demonstrating overtone singing (maybe even skillfully) at a party or performing specially composed music in recordings or concerts, after experiencing chills up and down your spine, chances are the first question that comes to your mind is “How is it done?” You are not alone. It is unusual to the uninitiated among us, simply because our lives up to this point have not included hearing or listening in this manner.

********Wait a minute! Why do I do this and teach this?

Believe me, I was not a natural born singer. However, as a child, I daydreamed of singing in a choir with thousands of voices in angelic harmony. It had something to do with outer space. Then in 1988, I first heard about overtone singing. Perhaps, like you, my knee jerk reaction was that I must figure out how to split my voice in two. It didn’t occur to me at the time that it was to be my purpose/ obsession in life, and to eventually to share this joy with those who also feel so compelled.  I never lost that vision from my childhood. But now, I had the possibility of DOUBLING the number of voices with the same number of people! The human voice is truly a phenomenal instrument. Our uniqueness is further enriched by the other-worldly beauty of natural overtones.

********Okay, back to YOU.

Perhaps you are already a ‘singer’/ soloist, a trained and seasoned professional in any number of genres. Perhaps you are a choir enthusiast. Or maybe you sing only in the shower for your own pleasure when no one else is around. In any case, you are determined to produce this sound yourself. To get inside your own body to discover how it really feels, to unleash your inner voice. You are eager to have a vast array of new tools available at the ‘tip of your tongue’. And to master it.

Maybe you’ve even attended a ‘healing voice’ type workshop or two and found great inspiration for your spiritual growth/ body-mind connection. This is all wonderful. Some of these programs are good. Singing in general, and overtone singing in particular may achieve these goals. Automatically.

If you have attended the afore-mentioned type of workshops (and even if you haven’t), perhaps your instincts led you here to move beyond the healing aspects. You are ready for more fulfilling vocal experiences. You are primed to explore overtone singing with the goal of making real music with it. To push the envelope. To become more confident, intuitive and spontaneous. To feel good and have fun. To have the freedom to sing counterpoint (in opposite directions!) with yourself.  It is possible. You too  can do it!
